Hello, my name is Alex.
I started learning photography from my dad when I was 17, and I haven’t stopped since.
I find joy in the subtle practice of capturing unaltered moments within my surroundings. Whether it's the everyday commute in Boston or the serene forests of Maine, I want to show that beauty is not confined to opulence but is present in the everyday. Always carrying a camera with me is essential for creating photographs that truly resonate with me because they are so often fleeting and unique.
When I encounter a scene or an image, I compose meticulously— shuffling side to side, adjusting, and realigning—until everything harmonizes within the frame. This process (looks ridiculous) and often involves directing lines towards the corners of the frame or cropping text in a way that feels visually satisfying. Though I tend to navigate life in a gray area, the precision of framing a photograph or noticing color coordination provides me a strangely profound feeling of clarity and rightness.
